Double Shift At Work
Man, I got stuck with another double shift tonight. I don't know how I'm mananging to do it. My mind is saying "no way can I work that long and not drop dead asleep in the hallway" but my body is actually handling pretty well.
Not gonna lie - I'm tired like a mug, but at least my body keeps going. It reminds me of those energizer bunny commercials. I keep going and going but all I really wanna do is lay down.
The patients make it worth it though. I have the sweetest patients you'll ever meet and I have the meanest, nastiest, grouchiest patients you NEVER want to meet.
I understand where they're coming from though. The meds can do things to your mind where you don't even know whats going on. Plus being in so much pain all the time can eat away at your mind and make you want to make other people miserable too...
I'm just pushing along though. Helping people for ridiculous amounts of hours each day, but loving it the whole way through.
Working 3 Jobs Bad For Your Health
Well, that's common sense. Most people probably know that working 3 jobs could have negative side effects, especially on your health.
I'm finding that, especially because of the on-call job, I just cannot get my body into any kind of natural sleep cycle or rhythm. I do need my rest, however, and I'm using sleeping pills a little more than I feel I want to. It's a compromise I made, a little bit of my health for a head-start in my career...
Another thing is that the hours I sleep are not the best for my health. I read that it's better to follow the sunlight and moonlight concerning your daily activities and sleep patterns. I simply cannot do that and I'm indoors too often to even see the sun or moonlight. I feel like my body is missing the natural sunlight. Will have to remember to get outside more often during my breaks.
My body is also overtired and pushed to it's limits right now. I'm always going and going like an energizer bunny when inside, I really feel like laying down and closing my eyes.
I can't wait to just score 1 really good job... Looking forward to quitting the rest.
Our TV Broke!
Man, I am soooo pissed. Our one and only TV broke. Most people wouldn't care because ours is like 9 years old and not the greatest model, but that was our only TV. It was the big, boxy kind with a relatively small screen, but we couldn't afford a new one and that's why we stuck with our little TV. It still worked for entertainment purposes...
Anyway, I have no idea what's wrong with it. I was watching a DVD and all of a sudden it made this loud, kind of crackling sound then flashed white a couple of times and blacked out. Now the screen doesn't work at all. I can still hear the volume but we can't see a thing. Nobody touched any wires, so it can't be anything that needs to be reconnected or adjusted back there (believe me, I tried). The TV is so old that I don't think anyone knows how to repair that kind of model anymore, and
I guess we're going to have to go without the TV for a couple of weeks and save up for a new one. I could put the new TV on our credit card but our interest rates have gone up and I do not want to be paying that.
I know the next TV I want is the flat screen kind that you can mount on the wall. I'm just going to be researching about the best brand and model for now. Our new TV will come in time...
Kauai Trip Is Over :(
Coming home today. I had so much fun on Kauai but I miss home too. Got the "welcome to Kauai" picture just a few hours ago - when were leaving LOL!
Baby girl can't keep still here in the airport! Chris is sitting nicely- playing with his Nintendo DS. Ah, the things technology can do for us!
Anyway, looking forward to taking a long, hot relaxing bath when I get home. Hopefully the kids will be tired and fall asleep, leaving me with some "me" time... Yeah right!
I Got The Job!
I got hired!!!! OMG, I am sook excited. Who would have thought that I would get to be a nurse? All my hard work finally paid off.
I got the call today but missed it so it went to voicemail. At the time I was biking around the park with my friend Ardie. Took a break and listened to my messages and then got so excited I started jumping around and people were looking at me. Lol. Ardie said my eyes got really bug when I was listening to the message and my hands were shaking. He thought something bad had happened because of how I was acting, hahaha.
Anyway, this is probably one of the best days of my life!
My Shopping Splurge LOL
Went shopping all day today with my Aunty & 2 cousins. I don't know why, bit I was looking for dresses all day. Feeling kind of girly,, I guess. I just want to look cute right now and dresses are just what I need.
I ended up buying a cute safari type dress with the belt. I love it because it's so comfortable and casual looking, yet is incredibly flattering. I also got a lavender colored dress with a flowing knee length skirt. I think it's going to look hot with my Jimmy Choos!
Didn't plan on spending as much as I did (over $200 - yikes!) so imma need to be really careful with my spending until payday.
My cousin Rose was even worse. She racked up $500 on her credit card. Crazy! Oh, being a girl...
Dinner w/ Marla & Renee
Just got home from dinner with Marla & Renee. Had some awesome dim sum from that Mei Sum place in Chinatown. Looking forward to taking Charmaine them one day after work.
When I got home, I seen that my dog Pogo chewed on the bottom right front corner of the couch. Don't ask me why... Anyway, now I have to try and sew it up and I have a feeling it's still going to look like crap.
Or, if you want to send me a brand new sofa from Home World I wouldn't mind that! Anyway, I'm off to shower and sleep. Lots of paperwork to do tomorrow
